I will definitely send them to you once I get past my immediate deadline (after the weekend). A couple of things:
I do have a number of dynamic attachments. Most follow (roughly) this order
T = 0-450 A is parent of B; B is parent of C
T = 450-600 A Translates and Rotates, moving B and C with it.
T = 600-800 B Translates moving only itself and C
T = 900 C detaches from B
T = 1000-1500 B moves by itself
T = 1500-1800 A Translates and Rotates, moving B with it.
Following on from my other thread one thing I noticed with this arrangement was that sometimes C would “jump around” once detached. On subsequent frames it would jump to a random previous position (on its path somewhere between T=0 and T=900), only for one frame and then on the next, be somewhere else entirely, causing it to “flicker” around.
To get around this I would script C for one frame after it detaches with all XYZ translation/rotation set to zero which keeps it in place until the end of the script @ T=1800.
I have the same script with different values saved under different names, I’ve been very careful to make sure all actors, scripts etc are named uniquely across all files.
The next observation is that when I open the file with all the included scripts, the animation preview timeline will have nothing (null) in its current fame textbox. Pressing play, or entering a valid frame value in the textbox will cause MicroStation to crash.
If I open the file, then make a modification to the script, say, change any of the includes from 00-100 to 01-100, or any value, the animation preview textbox will display “00” and then operate fine under playing or entering a frame value.
I also see less crashing during rendering after running the whole animation through a preview first.
