Forum Post: Re: Display Styles - where are thou

Thanks guys.

Yes the hovering gives some information. First it is only in a dgnlib. Later, I assume when 'used' in some sense, the properties are copied into active file. And hovering tells you if its properties are changed relative the, at that point configured, dgnlib.

Then things get more complicated.

Saved Views have a DS named, in my case 'drawing-forward'. I assume it is only a name, and the properties are taken from the seed/dgnlib . But I guess that there can be many DS-drawing-forward in various files::Models!your system. Which then may have different properties.

In ABD there is a bonanza of seeds for files, Models, Saved Views and Display Styles picked by a pletora of undocumented nested config vars to build a Drawing. After extensive archeology I am halfway to decipher it.

My problem, more specific, is that my window glasses becomes transparent, -which may sound curious to non architects. But in a facade you don't want to see through the window panes. And in some seed someone ..... has set the Display Style Forward Drawing with 'transparancy' on, where it should be off.

Are Display Styles per file or Model?

PS

I have also noticed there is a transparency in dwg-export Visible Edges that is equally problematic.
