I was able to duplicate the error. It is happening for the basic solver. The solver is generating errors when forming the stiffness matrix for this model. I have to dig into it more to understand what is causing this but on a general note, the model that you created with the compression only springs has the right modeling approach. You do not need to model the compression only members.
