By default AccuDraw should grab focus when a tool starts placement dynamics (ex. after you enter first datapoint to define the origin for place shape) but should return focus to home whenever a tool restarts (ex. after defining corner for place shape) or whenever a new tool is selected.
If the user preference for "Auto-Focus Tool Settings Window" is enabled (it's not enabled by default) AccuDraw will keep focus once it grabs it (pre-position mapping focus model), so make sure this hasn't been set...
If you are trying to prevent AccuDraw from grabbing focus at the start of placement dynamics, there's no way to prevent that from happening; it's necessary to be able to use the AccuDraw shortcuts.
