Is there any way to check if the file was created or edited on a non licenced software or student version of MicroStation
If the DGN file is created by a Bentley Systems product then there should be no problem. I don't think there's any difference between the DGN file created by, say, an academic license and a full SELECT subscription.
What can cause corrupt files are third party applications for MicroStation that are poorly written. However, there don't seem to be too many of those about these days.
Some files which we received...
A more likely culprit is a DGN file created by some third-party CAD tool, or perhaps imported from another format, say DXF, and then passed to you as a bona-fide DGN file.
Ask whoever created those DGN files questions that could reveal a problem with their provenance...
What version of MicroStation was used to create or import those files?
If the files were converted from another format, how was that conversion done?
What version of MicroStation are you using?
You might attach an example of a 'bad' DGN file to your post on this Forum.
