I am trying to model a small network in WaterGEMS V8i (Select series 2). I want to analyse the network with SS, however with flow control valves. I have following queries:
[1] I have chosen FCV (butterfly type) and given valve control setting. After SS analysis head loss through valve is very high (about 70 m) which makes all further nodes having negative pressure. Can I know reason for this? The pipe dia. and valve dia are same 400 mm. If I inactivate the valve the node pressures are OK.
[2] Which type of valve should be chosen for controlling a flow?
