I assume you are searching a programmable approach, right? For this, I don't know. If you can accept manual operation, you can try the customization GUI shown as below. I remembered it really can extract all icons in rsc file (include dgnlib file also) into external files. Then you can import them into a new dgn file. HTH, YongAn

Hi Satadal, I am connecting horizontal pipe runs (no slope) using place pipe tool, I am not interested in crosses but crossovers . I remember using it in previous project (not sure if it was SS5 or SS6). My current company/project is on SS6 so CONNECT edition is not an option. Regards, Azhar

Hi i'm trying to set up roofs and keep getting the error code run time '11'. Division by 0. I got our IT department to install the latest graphic drivers, however the problem is still occurring. It is quite a complex roof drawing. Could this be the problem?

Forum Post: ORD U3 - Crashes While Creating Geometry
Hi, I'd like to get an idea of how many other people, if any, are experiencing crashes while creating / editing civil geometry. What I am experiencing now is no where near as bad as it used to be but I am noticing that 90% of the crashes I experience now occur when I am working with civil geometry. When possible I submit the exceptions log but every now and then ORD hangs and the closes itself with no crash or submit exceptions log window at all. The event logs details module ucrtbase.dll as being faulty, is anyone else experiencing this? Josh

Not sure if this will help but you wouldn't happen to have made small edits to your template? I've experienced a similar crash and the cause was the use of buggy feature definitions in the template. Whats the size of your terrain file? I'm not sure your project files are attached, I can't see them.

Yes, what these guys said. I would take some small file(s) and do some quick tests. For overlaps, you may find the Interactive mode works best. It highlights and annotates (temporarily) each overlaps, allows you to repair it, then you can continue to the next overlap.

Product activation is achieved by connecting to a SELECTserver, receiving verification that your SELECTserver Name and Activation Key are correct, and successfully posting Usage logs. Product activation is not the same as checking out a license. This document describes how to configure ProStructures V8 i SELECTseries 6 R2 for activation. After initial configuration, ProStructures V8 i SELECTseries 6 R2 automatically and transparently tries to activate each time it runs, and runs unconstrained for a period of 30 days after its last successful activation. However, if activation is unsuccessful for a period of 30 days, ProStructures V8 i SELECTseries 6 R2 runs in unauthorized mode with sessions limited to 15 minutes until the product is successfully activated again. Important note : If the workstation on which ProStructures V8 i SELECTseries 6 R2 will be running does not have regular network access for periodic activation (at least every 30 days), then consider utilizing a checked-out license. Checked-out licenses are considered to be in full-time use and ProStructures V8 i SELECTseries 6 R2 will not attempt to post usage for the duration of the license term. See the ProStructures V8 i SELECTseries 6 R2 documentation for details on obtaining a checked out license. Activating a product using the Product Activation Wizard After a product is installed, you must obtain a license and then activate that license. Product(s): MicroStation Version(s): 08.11.09.869 Environment: N\A Area: DWG Subarea: General Problem When in DWG work mode and having DGN files attached as reference, on opening the master file MicroStation comes with a message in the Message Centre, stating: DGN Reference "...\ReferenceDGN1.dgn" has been substituted for "ReferenceDGN1.dwg" The DWG reference file: "ReferenceDGN1.dgn" could not be found - "...\ReferenceDGN1.dgn" has been substituted for this attachment. This behaviour is expected when a DGN file is attached as a reference to a DWG file as it is not possible to store the DGN name in a DWG attachment. When working with a Document Management System, this could lead to all kind of problems. Solution There is no solution to solve this issue as it is a Works As Designed. However, it is possible to prevent attaching DGN files as reference while working in DWG work mode in MicroStation. This can be done by adding the capability statement _USTN_CAPABILITY_DWG > -CAPABILITY_REFERENCE_V8 to ...\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\config\system\workmode.cfg Before making any changes to the configuration file, please make a copy to use as backup. perhaps i have misunderstood the tools to do this i tried the RFA interpreter wizard, selected a family of parts selected a folder of parts, at this stage the Bentley warnings say: the next button showed all the parts the next button showed: at this stage the next button is greyed out i think the root of the problem is that failed to create a 3d element these objects are being used on revit projects in the same office and were created by for use on company projects they are 3d, but it seems cannot be imported into aecosim am i missing some vital part of the routine for successful conversion of rfa files?
