Wiki Page: How to create ACIS of multiple files in a single command
Applies To AutoPLANT Modeler Product(s): AutoPLANT Modeler | AutoPLANT Piping Version(s): N.A Environment: Windows 7-8-10 (64 bit) Area: N.A Subarea: N.A Original Author: Devendra Warke, Bentley Product Advantage Group Background There might be scenarios in which the users might need to give their model to a contractor or a vendor who might not be having any intelligent software to view and understand the model. In such cases, whenever the user desires to give the model just for representation purposes. He can convert his model into ACIS format which can be viewed in the AutoCAD. Currently the procedure available allows us to create ACIS of one file at a time which will result in a tiresome work if we have multiple files for conversion. The article explains the procedure to be followed for generating ACIS of multiple files together at once. Steps to Accomplish Open a new “ Plain ” AutoCAD session, by using the AutoCAD desktop shortcut. And make sure that the AutoPLANT profile is not loaded. Type in the command “PDMODE” in the Commandline and give enter and enter the value must be 0 . Now Xref all the required Piping and Equipment models from the project into the new file. ( As Attachment ). NOTE: View the model and check if the files are placed correctly. Start your Xref Manager, select the files and click on “Bind” . 5. In the next dialog, check on Insert and click on OK . Your Xref Manager should not be showing you any files, so click OK to close. Type in the command bar “EXPLODE” and then give enter. In the next line type “ ALL ” (to select all xrefs) and enter again.Press enter one more time to complete the explode procedure. As a check, select some items now to see if they are separate components. Now type in the command bar “ COPYASACIS” and give enter.Type “ ALL” to select all objects and press enter.Give another enter to complete the process Observe the white lines created in the model. Type in a command “EXPORT” and press enter.Select a location where the file must go, choose a filename and Select the file type ACIS (*sat) . Click on Save. Type in command line “ ALL” , to select and give enter. Enter again to complete the process. (can take some time) In the command line you can read that AutoCAD “ignored some objects. These are your original AutoPLANT items. Close the AutoCAD session, saving is not needed but you may. To check the results, you can Import the *.sat file in to a new AutoCAD session. The ACIS of all the files will be created. See Also Converting AutoPLANT Objects To ACIS Still a Problem? The DgnElementSetTool class have two functions: virtual bool _OnDataButton (DgnButtonEventCR ev) override; virtual bool _OnResetButton (DgnButtonEventCR ev) override; When I override these two functions from its derived subclass, what is the difference between the return value true and false? I don't know under what circumstances should return true, and what circumstances should return false. Thanks for everyone's help.

Forum Post: Scheduling Standing Work Orders
It appears we can't schedule standing work orders created since our upgrade to Bentley ver. 7.11 . Does this make sense or am I missing something here? We are able to schedule a standing work order created prior to the upgrade that was in a planned state (not work started) from the old ver. 5.17 that was moved over to the new version. Since we have booked time (activity) to this standing work order that was created prior to the upgrade, we cannot schedule it anymore. It won't allow you to schedule from the task or from the the actual schedule. Thanks in advance Jeff

Wiki Page: How to change the gap between the extension line and the element?
Product: MicroStation Version: V8, V8i, CONNECT Edition Environment: N\A Area: Dimensions Subarea: Dim Styles Problem How to change the gap between the extension line and the element being dimensioned? Solution That can be adjusted with the Offset value for Extension Lines: Sets the distance, in text height units, between the start of the extension line and the element. This applies to dimensions after they have been placed. Simply set this before the dimension is placed so that all dimensions use this value. MicroStation V8 2004 Edition : 1. Open the Dimension Style dialog box, select Extension Lines. 2. Change the offset value. 3. Select the Change Dimension tool. 4. Select the dimension to be changed > The dimension will update to the current style. MicroStation V8i (Select Series): 1. Go to Element > Dimension Styles 2. On the Geometry tab > Extension Lines section > tick on Enable and change the Offset value 3. Select the Change Dimension tool. 4. Select the dimension to be changed > The dimension will update to the current style. MicroStation CONNECT Edition: 1. Go to Drawing workflow > Annotate tab > Dimensioning tool group and click the little arrow on the right bottom corner of the tool group > Dimension Styles dialog opens 2. Follow the steps for MicroStation V8i starting from step number 2. See Also Other language sources Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group

Forum Post: RE: [V8i] "Raster image is currently Reprojected" not allowing me to clip image
I get this on occasion, something with the georeferencing data. The solution is to go to the raster attachment properties geometry section and click on Inherited. No idea exactly why it does this. I generally work with 88 counties in Ohio, maybe 5 or 6 of them do this. This may not help your situation.

Wiki Page: Track Straightening Parameters
Introduction Operation Analytics (OA) allows a schematic track layout to be automatically built from a GIS reference line and track centreline data. The image below shows a linearized representation of the imported GIS track data (chart Track Layout Actual) and a schematic representation built with Operation Analytics (chart Track Layout Straighten). A schematic track layout can be created using the OA corridor.StraightenTracks command and tuned using the corridor.CreateTrackStraighteningCorrection command and the following system parameters: StraighteningTrackTypePriority CrossOverTrackType TrackSegmentTolerance StraightenedTrackSeparation StraightenedTrackBendDistance StraightenedTrackMaintainSlotDistance Straightening Track Type Priority The StraighteningTrackTypePriority parameter defines the order in which the tracks will be straightened. The value of this parameter is a comma separated list of track type names, ordered by decreasing priority for straightening. In the following example: parameter.SetValue ("StraighteningTrackTypePriority", "Main,Siding,Yard,Crossover") Main tracks are straightened first, then Siding, then Yard. The crossover track type must be the last item on the list. Crossover Track Type The CrossOverTrackType parameter defines the name used to represent crossover track type in the user configuration, for example X-Over, Connecting, Crossover etc. The parameter value can set be using parameter.SetValue command, for example: parameter.SetValue ("CrossOverTrackType", "Connecting") TrackSegmentTolerance The TrackSegmentTolerance parameter defines the tolerance, in centimetres, for separation between track segment nodes to determine track contiguity. It helps to address minor data quality issues, such as small track segment gaps which may be present in the data supplied for import into OA. The value of this attribute depends on network model data quality, for example parameter.SetValue ("TrackSegmentTolerance ", "1") The image below shows a gap in the supplied data (chart Track Layout Actual) and continues track generated after track straightening. StraightenedTrackSeparation The StraightenedTrackSeparation parameter defines minimum distance (on Y axis) between tracks after straightening. The value must be specified in centimetres. StraightenedTrackSeparation=10 StraightenedTrackSeparation=100 StraightenedTrackBendDistance The StraightenedTrackBendDistance parameter defines the distance (in centimetres) along the corridor over which a track bend is drown. StraightenedTrackBendDistance=10 StraightenedTrackBendDistance=1000 StraightenedTrackMaintainSlotDistance The StraightenedTrackMaintainSlotDistance parameter defines in centimetres the minimum length of a track before its drawing is bent and moved into an empty slot (on Y exes closer to the corridor centre). 0 means never move track to empty slots. StraightenedTrackMaintainSlotDistance=0 StraightenedTrackMaintainSlotDistance=100 Straighten Tracks Please refer to OA Command Scripts Reference Guide for the StraightenTracks command syntax and more information related to this topic.
