Turning it on will allow to select a whole group by selecting one of the objects that is a member of that group. When working with generated details, it will allow to toggle between selecting detail as whole or selecting just one object in it (i.e. dimension or position number) Adjusted ribbon to show Detail Center Standard instead of Detail Center Now icon on the ribbon will directly run Detail Center Standard, saving an extra step to get to drawing generation workflow. Shorter leader lines for position flags Imperial Naming Convention Improvements For clarity, below items were renamed to conform with the standard, commonly used nomenclature. - Renamed US Stick as Single Line - Renamed US Sketch as Single Line with Widget NC Export Improvements: Sorting by position number to NC-DSTV log file NC-DSTV log file has been enhanced with sorting, allowing to easer find verify what parts were processed. Before: After: The encoding of the log file was changed to Unicode format so that special characters can be written. This enhancement will also allow using a larger set of characters in one file. Plate thickness can be part of DXF filename The ability to add plate thickness to the file name was added for DXF files. This enables users to sort the DXF files based on thickness and sort them for easier management of the fabrication process. Group Export Improvements Ability to export groups, subgroups, and assemblies as separate DGN files. Each group can be now exported as separate DGN files, allowing users to find and review a specific group, subgroup or assembly without opening the whole structure model. This feature can be very useful i.e. at the fabrication stage. Progress of processed elements is indicated with a progress bar. After Exporting Groups as separate DGN files, a log file will be created, containing information about processed groups, subgroups and assemblies. Level option in Assignments of Roof/Wall Panels tab In Roof/Wall Panels PS properties window Level can be assigned with a drop-down menu, similar to how it works for other objects. Gusset Plate Chamfers for Dynamic Bracing Straight, convex and concave chamfers can now be added to Gusset Plates in Dynamic Bracing tool. Item Types in Partlist Item Types allow adding additional data to objects including ProSteel objects. Usage examples include Processing Treatment, Progress Stage and many other applications which enable better managment and review of steel structures. This data can now be included in Reports created with ProSteel Partlist Reports tool. GUID in Partlist GUID information can be now used i n Reports created with ProSteel Partlist Reports tool. Features Moved from Technology Preview to Commercial Release The following feature that was in Technology Preview mode in previous updates has been commercially released in this update: Stiffener Distribution ProConcrete Enhancements Item Type Properties in Reports Item Type Properties can be now included in schedules created with Create Concrete Partlist Database Tool. Item Type Properties attached to Concrete and Rebar objects will now be visible in the Report editing tool and can now be added to the template. One use example would be adding Fabricator name and delivery date to modeled bars so they can be reported and tracked. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. One more question: could you share examples of how to create an instance of OSViewUI? The only one provided in the examples I was able to find is how to create an instance of OpenStaad.

Hello, I've made several tries but I do not find the way to create a cell where the embeded text updates automatically with the model properties when I attach the cell in my active model. What I mean by model properties is item types previously attached to the model. Typically, the cell is a Title block Cell Many Thanks Remy Weill

Gotcha, that makes sense. When then would it be useful to assign a member a frame type? Would this be mainly for designing collectors adjacent to the actual frame (that require the use of overstrength)?

When we get DWG files, there is a lot of information that we don't want or need. I use a vba routine to delete a lot of this stuff. One thing that I have it do is to drop all shared cells to normal cells. --Robert

Hello Ahmad, You can open the AutoPLANT drawing files in AutoCAD by installing AutoPLANT object enabler for AutoCAD. I may believe, you cannot open AutoPLANT drawing files in AutoCAD Plant 3d with the same object enabler. you can download the object enabler for AutoCAD from the given below link. Link for download: https://communities.bentley.com/products/plant/w/plant_design_and_engineering__wiki/32642/autoplant-modeler-v8i-object-enabler-for-autocad Regards Abhijeet Shinde

Michael, the help for OpenSTAAD is quite literally the worst documentation I've ever seen. They do still have the older documentation available that you can download. I suggest you use that, although it won't explain OSViewUI but hopefully you can do what you need to with the standard library. (I guess that's the right term). The link to the download is here .

Wiki Page: How to use ProjectWise tool Scan references and link sets

Product(s): Bentley Raceway and Cable Management Version(s): 10.03.00.25 Environment: N/A Area: ProjectWise Integration tool Subarea: N/A Background When documents are initially imported into ProjectWise, any existing physical relationships between the imported documents are kept, but the relationships are not yet recognized or managed by ProjectWise. To establish these relationships in ProjectWise, you need to scan the contents of the imported folders and files using the Scan for Reference Files and Link Sets wizard (Tools > Scan References and Link Sets) in ProjectWise Explorer. You can run the Scan for Reference Files and Link Sets wizards as often as needed. The Scan for Reference Files and Link Sets wizard supports live nesting of references in both MicroStation and AutoCAD. For each master file detected during the scanning process, the file's nest depth is also obtained and stored in the ProjectWise database. Before you begin using the Scan for Reference Files and Link Sets wizard, make sure that: You are either an administrator or a user with write permissions. All the files you want to scan (master and reference files, and/or link set files) have already been imported into ProjectWise. Steps To Accomplish- 1. Open ProjectWise Explorer and click on Tools menu, and click on Scan references and link sets 2. Click Next into the welcome dialogue and in the next wizard check all options and proceed further. 3. In the next wizard select the DGN files or one Specific folder the required DGN files. These are the DGN files for which we need to scan references. 4. Now select the power platform application of both Main DGN and reference DGN files 5. Select the folders in which to look for references files. 6. If proximity search is enabled PW explorer will scan for references from the folder of main DGN also. Specify the log file name if needed and proceed further. 7. Click on Scan. The scanning process will start. Review the results and close the wizard. Original Author: Vikrant Kale
