Product(s): Bentley Hevacomp Version(s): V8i (V26.xx.xx.xx) Environment: N/A Area: N/A Subarea: N/A Disambiguation If you receive a run time error 429 with this associate screen corruption then please see this document instead. Problem During the installation a lack of permissions have stopped components being registered correctly. You should not normally need to reinstall the software Solution Check to see that the run time components are installed. Open Control Panel and select Uninstall a program: From the list of available programs see if you can identify the following. Do not uninstall anything. For Version 26 installations: Run Time Components for Bentley Hevacomp V8i 25.xx.xx.xx -or- Run Time Components for Bentley Hevacomp V8i 26.xx.xx.xx If any of these items do not exist for the relevant version, then consult this document to ensure you have a full and clean installation of the software. Once we have ascertained we have the components installed correctly, navigate into the installation folder: With 32bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp\ With 64bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp\ In this folder, locate these five programs: Hevbanner.exe HevenergyPlus.exe DDB.exe Netsys.exe Nimbus.exe For each program in turn, right click on them and select Run as administrator from the context menu. If required, provide an administrator password. If you receive an onscreen message after running one of the programs, ignore the message. If the program opens, close it using normal methods. Once all of the programs have been run in this manner you should be able to run your software correctly from the Bentley Hevacomp V8i icon, or from the Start menu link.

Ian, I am using Power InRoads V8i SS2 - Version 08.11.07.615 The cells should be contained in the Pattern.dgn in separate model spaces.....Idk if this is causing the problem, but that is how we set up our cell files. Thanks.

Yes the REPEAT LOADs have been specified correctly. The PDELTA analysis command is PDELTA nn ANALYSIS or PDELTA nn ANALYSIS SMALLDELTA ( both are the same ) where "nn" stands for the number of iterations. Using about 20 iterations is fine. In other words you can use PDELTA 20 ANALYSIS or PDELTA 20 ANALYSIS SMALLDELTA as the analysis command.

Yes you should get the same results. However a better way of handling this is the way you mentioned in the post below https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/f/ram-staad-forum/177175/lrfd-load-combination-with-notional-load

ASCE 7 is a load generation code and not a design code. So when it comes to wind or seismic load generation or generation of automatic load combinations ( IBC refers to ASCE ) you would be able to select this code. However when it comes to design, it would be AISC (for steel) or ACI (concrete) etc.

The steel design does not pick up the steel grade from material definition. You will need to specify the design parameter SGR for that. In your file, if you assign the SGR 2 to all the members ( command is SGR 2 ALL ), you would get the results you are looking for.

Go to Job Setup > Edit Current Job and ensure that you have load cases under the Selected Load Cases window on the right. After you do that ensure that you click on the Edit Current Job button below the window. You should have both service and ultimate load combinations within the Selected Load Cases window.

I have seen this happen if the files have different coordinate systems, when copying a shape into another file there is a scale factor that you may/may not have noticed (maybe do a reference then merge with master), your design file units/subunits may not match, your working units accuracy may be different in both files, ensure that you are using the same settings for the measure command as well. Considering that this is a 2D drawing, you can narrow it down quite a bit I think! I guess I gave a lot of suggestions here... I hope one of those works out.

Forum Post: RE: Gusset Base Plate Connection

I reviewed your files (Rack 3.std). It does look suspicious how different the two column base plates are. In order to diagnose things I made some simplifications to the model. I made it a 2-D frame that was basically symmetric and I checked the connection design for just a few load combinations. When I assign the connections anew, then the results are also symmetric as I would expect. My test was with version 22.00.00.15 of STAAD.pro. I don't see anything obvious in the original to account for the differences, but when I compare the two reports side by side I see various differences, in the materials, loads grout thickness, etc. Try updating to the latest version and re-assigning the Gusset Base Plates and let me know if the issue persists for you. Also note, be sure to use LRFD design for Base Plates to get all the anchor checks.

the color coding tells you in which state the details are for processing Grey means the parts have not been processed. The reason why this could be the case, can be various, like a restricted style. As said below, we will need your model for a full conclusion on the issue.
