Hi everybody, I have a 3D Model which consists of a Master file with 41 Reference files. I have to export all reference files to IFC. Is there a way to export a bunch of files all at once? Regards, Christian

Hi John,
see my reply to Marco in the idea I posted here.
I disagree a bit with the idea of such extension of Item Types, because I do not like apporach "because I do not know how to use EC data, modify user-oriented Item Types to be more complicated". In my opinion there are several solutions available with different pros and cons, all based on custom EC schema: Individual schema for every variant: I prefer this solution because of compliancy with object oriented rule "simple responsibility". When there is an object that requires a different set of data, it's different object and should be represented by different class. I do not know details and context, so I am not able to evaluate whether the situation really require so many variants / combinations or it's just a consequence. I agree for so many options, it would be too complicated to maintain so many custom data sets. To make the implementation more systematic, I assume EC class inheritance should be used. In such case there should be root class with all maintained data and all inherited classess should individually hide properties that are not relevant for specific situation. It does not solve the problem with a number of different data sets (variants of properties), but it makes a maintenance simpler. To hide not used properties automatically: EC class or individual property can be modified using EC attribute "don't show null properties". It works great in many situations, unfortunately not for numbers, because there is no "null number" (maybe number can be extended somehow, I do not know). Problem with this approach, when a user is involved, is that when he deletes value, the property is hidden and cannot be edited. No problem when edit is maintained through own application. To add extra property that will control whether other properties should be displayed or not. In attached zip file, see controlled_EC_property_display.dgn. It's just a demonstrator (despite of its simplicity I spent too much time with it), so the control property is kept visible intentionally. Not "nice feature" of this solution is that when too many combinations exists, you have to have individual control property for every user property. It's expected normally the control property will be hidden and set by own application. An extension of previous solution is to bind the control property with other feature . As an example of this approach, there is CellWithECData.cel with one cell inside. When you will open the cell directly, all EC properties (2 ;-) should be visible and editable. When the cell is placed to DGN file, only one property is visible and the second is hidden automatically, because there is internal control whether the cell is in file with .cel extension or not. With regards, Jan communities.bentley.com/.../ectests.zip

Dear user, I think the whole file was not pasted here. I would request you to attach .std file here . You will find an option to insert file under Insert option.

Sehen Sie hierzu auch N/A Anderssprachige Quelle N/A

Problem Description In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, when “ Isometric Output Format ” option selected as DWG like shown in below image. When user generates an isometrics then following error prompts as shown below. Error:ERROR[5]: DWG creation failed at Bentley.Isometrics.IsoExtWrapper.GenerateIsometrics.Execute() at Bentley.Isometrics.IsoProduction.PipeGenerateIso.Process(IsometricInstance isoInst) at Bentley.Isometrics.IsoProduction.ProcessingPipes.ProcessIsoInstance(BackgroundWorker bWorker, IsometricInstance isoInst, Boolean& success) Below steps will aid user to avoid such errors. Below example and error caused shown here using OpenPlant Modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. However similar instances might occur using AutoPLANT modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Steps to Resolve Case1 The above errors mentioned due to missing file present inside the “ dwgdata “ folder which is found under each styles for isometrics. See image below. User has to check file defined inside the OpenPlant Modeler. See default dwgdata folder below where all files are present. Update the missing file to working style folder under “ dwgdata ” folder & verify results. See below image after putting all relevant files. Case2 In some cases OpenPlant Isometrics Manager not installed properly or by mistake some files get deleted from following location. Here you can see the assigned materials (S355 for all steel elements): And this is the steel detail design report for one of the members (saying S235 was used) communities.bentley.com/.../test-report.pdf I have entered steel grade S355 in the model but the report says that the steel used is S235. How can I enter the desired steel grade? model is attached below: communities.bentley.com/.../8625.Test-Model.STD

I have attached a geolocated raster to my drawing file. Now I can't clip it. I get the error message listed above. What's the problem?? The image in question is a GeoTIFF. I attached it with Geo Priority set to Attachment, and Inherit GeoCS from Model to Not Inherited. The image comes in where I expect to see it. All is good. Now I would like to clip it to my sheet border, but nothing happens and I see the red circle with the X telling me "Raster Image is currently Reprojected". Yes, it probably is. What does the LOCATION have to do with my ability to clip the image? Do you have any suggestions for putting my image in the right place AND being able to show only the area I want to see? This issue was also submitted to the support team via a service request. We found that there were some existing connections assigned in the model that could be selected but were not visible on screen. We deleted these connections from the model and then were able to assign connections to all joints.

Hello Brendon, yes I know, but this is not what I need. I don't need the whole 3D Model Master file including references in one single IFC file. I need every reference file in a single IFC file. But to create all IFC files do I have to open each dgn file separately and export it in an IFC? For this process I would prefer a tool like Batch Converter for DWG. Regards, Christian

I was using this method when updating some attributes when I discovered I could not get the exact search I needed. So I used Select-PWSQL -SQLSelectStatement "SELECT doc.O_DOCGUID,doc.O_ITEMNO,doc....", then for each row used Get-PWDocumentsByGUIDs -DocumentGUIDs $docrow["O_DOCGUID"].ToString() to get the document. I was then able to update the attribute(s) on the document.
